In a calm Kollárova street, not far from the historic centre of Kroměříž town there is situated the art nouveau villa with a large garden. The house is called Penzion Holub The villa was built in 1927 by Jan Holub (*1881 - +1942), coming from Rožnov pod Radhoštěm. Mr Jan Holub, a high and mighty clerk, was a chairman of the administrative board of the railway from Frýdlant – to Bílá. From the printout of the „Album of representatives of Czechoslovak public life“ it is possible to recognize, that besides the title of the chairman he boasted about the title of the chief executive of princely and archiepiscopal manors, the commander of the papal order of St. Gregory the Great. The house was designed by the great European specialist, Ing. architect Gessner. At present the art nouveau house belongs to Mr Holub ´s great grandson, Mr Zdeněk Pospíšil. He and his wife are the leavers of the hotel school. At a huge reconstruction of the new house they made reckoning of keeping all in the original style. In 1997, the restaurant started to operate and during the other years the rooming part of the guest – house was preparing for accommodation gradually.
