The Vítkovice Arena Multifunctional Hall, to give it its full name, is a replacement for the former Ledňáček ice stadium, which was built in 1967 and no longer met modern service requirements. The hall is an annex to the neighbouring ČEZ Arena, is used as a venue for sporting and cultural events on a smaller scale than those held in the huge Arena. It can seat 700 visitors, but is mainly used as a second rink for the youth teams of the HC Vítkovice ice hockey club and by teams playing in local amateur leagues. The hall is also open for public skating sessions and ice discos. In November 2007, a hotel was opened next to the hall.
