The interior of the church of San Pietro is austere, built in stone, and is organized into three naves with a slightly raised chancel and crypt; of the three apses that originally formed the rear of the church, only two remain accessible. The dome, which for a time was also decorated with glazes in pottery, owes its shape to a structure, now in sight, consists of a series of concentric steps.
