The first convent for nuns of the order of St Clare north of the Alps, founded around the year 1231 by St Agnes of Bohemia, daughter of King Přemysl Otakar I. The building is one of the earliest examples of the penetration of the Cistercian - Burgundian Gothic style into Bohemia.
