The Aréna Chamber Theatre is one of the smallest and most recently established theatrical companies in the Czech Republic. However, what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in atmosphere. It emerged from the former Musical Theatre, which became independent in 1991 and was transformed into a multi-genre artistic company. The newly founded Aréna Chamber Theatre was able to draw on a strong tradition of small theatres for young people, and today its professional artists perform unconventional studio productions aimed mainly at young people, including university students. In addition to theatrical productions, Aréna also acts as a venue for a wide range of interesting musical performances, discussions, debates, club evenings and educational presentations for children and young people. The theatre is also involved in organizing the international festival Folklore Without Borders.
