The Poruba Sports Centre provides facilities for sports fans of many kinds. The modern four-lane skittle alley, tennis courts and practice climbing wall are available to the general public. Other facilities are available to local sports clubs. For track discipline there is the athletics track with its artificial surface, while for field disciplines – long jump, high jump, shot-putting and other events – there are dedicated facilities. Football clubs can use the automatically watered grass pitch and a floodlit training pitch with an artificial surface. The complex also includes artificially surfaced courts for volleyball and related sports, as well as an asphalt court for handball.

Over the course of the years, the Sports Centre has hosted a wide range of competitions and tournaments in sports such as football, skittles, youth athletics, school Olympiads, chess, tennis championships, and many different cultural events. In July 2007 the Centre was a venue for the prestigious Under-17s World Athletics Championships. The complex is undergoing constant reconstruction and renovation work, and is an increasingly popular facility both for sports clubs and for the general public.
